Brighton

Lee Harwood, or maybe Paul Evans, described the sea at Brighton as being like a wall at the end of the street. It is.

The line was from Paul Evans' poem 'Brightoniana' (which appears in the posthumous volume of memories and praises, The Empty Hill): 'The sea was tilted, I could almost touch it, leaning from my bench'.
